Biosimilars Project: A Transparent Build from Idea to Impact
This project section pulls back the curtain on how I brought the Biosimilars dashboard to life. You’ll see my full creative and analytical process. From early brainstorming and sketches, to multiple design iterations, development phases, and final interactive features. Each stage demonstrates how complex drug switching data and utilization trends were transformed into a clear, actionable story that helps payers and providers uncover savings and optimize treatment pathways.
Brainstorming Session
We began by rethinking how to present biosimilar cost savings and market dynamics. Working with stakeholders, we identified key questions around utilization trends, plan impact, and conversion rates—laying the groundwork for a dashboard designed to drive smarter treatment and cost strategies.
Iterations
We explored a range of design concepts, from flowcharts to high-level dashboards, to reshape how biosimilar utilization and cost impact are understood. Each iteration tested different storytelling methods, including patient journey mapping, disease state breakdowns, and savings visualization. These mock-ups helped refine how we displayed key insights, such as conversion rates and practical savings.
Development Phases
We iterated across multiple dashboard builds to create a solution that communicates biosimilar savings, patient conversion, and brand impact. Each phase tested new frameworks, from conversion tracking to expanded therapy insights, allowing us to validate key metrics and enhance usability. The result: a visually intuitive dashboard that empowers users to evaluate biosimilar performance with clarity and confidence.
Functionalities
The dashboard includes interactive features that help users navigate biosimilar data. A “How to Read” button overlay provides instant guidance on outreach filters and key metrics, while a dynamic zone visibility function lets users compare potential savings across originator and biosimilar drugs in one view. Visual filter selection highlights the potential cost savings for patients on a Biosimilar, making every step feel personalized and actionable.
